چکیده

Fast Handover for Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (F-HMIPv6) that combines advantages of Fast Handover for Mobile IPv6 (FMIPv6) and Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (HMIPv6) achieves the superior performance in terms of handover latency and signaling overhead compared with previously developed mobility protocols. However, without being secured, F-HMIPv6 is vulnerable to various security threats. In 2007, Kang and Park proposed a security scheme, which is seamlessly integrated into FHMIPv6. In this paper, we reveal that Kang-Park’s scheme cannot defend against the Denial of Service (DoS) and redirect attacks while largely relying on the group key. Then, we propose an Enhanced Security Scheme for F-HMIPv6 (ESS-FH) that achieves the strong key exchange and the key independence as well as addresses the weaknesses of Kang-Park’s scheme. More importantly, it enables fast handover between different MAP domains. The proposed scheme is formally verified based on BAN-logic, and its handover latency is analyzed and compared with that of Kang-Park’s scheme. key words: F-HMIPv6 security, CGA, BAN-logic

FH-RSVP scheme for intra-site handover in hierarchical mobile IPv6 networks

This paper proposes a new RSVP and Mobile IP interworking scheme, called FH-RSVP, to support QoS of real-time applications in mobile environments. FH-RSVP uses unicast sender-oriented RSVPs with HMIPv6 protocol and makes anticipated reactive resource reservations based on fast handover principles when an intra-site handoff can happen to WLAN access radio medium. Simulation results show that our...

Optimum Efficient Fast Handover Support for IPv6

---International Engineering Task Force (IETF) proposed MIPv6 and HMIPv6 both mobility management solutions to support the IP mobility. Although HMIPv6 is an extension of MIPv6 still there is handover latency and packet loss in HMIPv6.In this paper a scheme is presented that supports a fast handover efficiently in hierarchical mobile IPv6 networks (HMIPv6). In HMIPv6 when a mobile node (MN) mov...

A Study of an Integrated Security Handover Scheme for Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 based Multimedia Convergence Networks

Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 introduces a new node called the Mobile Anchor Point (MAP) to improve the handover speed performance of Mobile IPv6 by reducing the amount of signaling in the ongoing connection between the mobile node, its correspondent nodes, and its home agent. With MAP as an additional node, it’s signaling, both received and sent is subject to several security vulnerabilities that n...

An Optimization Handover Scheme Based On HMIPv6

The process that mobile node still maintains its connectivity when moved from one access router (AR) to another access router is called handover. The handover technology is one of the most important technologies for the quality of real-time operation. In order to reduce the handover delay. Fast Mobile IPv6 (FMIPv6), Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (HMIPv6) and Fast Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 are studied...
